Check it out: A Jewish co-op house in Portland dedicated to building a "vibrant, multi-faceted, inclusive, grass-roots" community, as well as modeling sustainable practices for us all to emulate. Nice!
We've known the Moishe House crew in Portland more or less since they started (Moishe House is well networked internally, so our Moishe Houseniks meet those from other cities often), but I might never have heard about Kayam if it weren't for someone posting a link in a comment on a Jewschool.com blog post about Ravenna Kibbutz. Let's plan a Kibbutz retreat to Portland and visit them!
