The Ravenna Kibbutz

Would it kill you to find a nice Jewish commune?

Kibbutz Gardening - Help Needed!

Work party!!!

Want to help with the Kibbutz garden? Come over this Sunday (June 28, 1-5pm). We're going to build a new garden bed from start to finish (clearing the land, turning the soil, planting the seeds....) It's hard work, but a great way to meet people and a lot of fun.

We'll provide the tools, drinks and snacks. You don't need to know anything about gardening - I'll teach you everything you need to know.

If you can't make it to the work party but still want to be involved, here are some things you can do:

- A "maintenance shift" or two, per week, of watering, bug-watch and weeding - about 20 minutes per shift. (You would be assigned a specific day of the week, for a specific house/plot of land.)

- harvesting (i.e. of the Italian plums growing at Gimmel, and other crops when they come up),

- drying (i.e. making prunes, sun-dried tomatoes, dried basil, etc.),

- composting at Aleph and/or Gimmel,

- container gardening - I can give you seeds, and you can have a little mini-garden of your own.

I'm also glad to give a "garden tour" to anyone who is interested - I can show you the current projects, as well as future plans and ideas.

If you want to sign up for a job shift, or get a tour, just let me know!
