MEAT
When:
Friday, March 12, 2010 -
7:00pm - 11:00pm
Where:
House Bet
6316 23rd Ave NE
If you're a carnivore, then this is the shabbat for you.
We'd like to celebrate both shabbat and pasta together this week, so
please join us for the Ravenna Kibbutz's first Pastafarian-Jewish
Shabbat dinner. We'll have spaghetti with kosher meatballs and
asian-style kosher meat buns. Please bring your own kosher meat or
vegetarian dish. And remember: NO DAIRY ALLOWED.
Not sure where to find kosher meat? Try the QFC at U-Village, the
Albertsons on Mercer Island, or your local Trader Joe's.
Not sure whether your cookware can handle kosher meat? Kashering metal
and glass is easy -- clean the utensil, pot, or pan, pour boiling
water over all surfaces, and air dry or wipe with a clean towel.
Don't want to bring meat? That's great! Some of us are vegetarians,
too, and we'll welcome your vegetarian dish. Be careful to use
dairy-free fats and dressings, though, so those carnivores among us
may enjoy your dish as well.
Hope to see you this Friday! Doors open at 7pm. Dinner begins at 7:30pm sharp.
